CLiPS team participated in competition on emotion detection

During the summer, members of the CLiPS Computational Linguistics group participated in the 2011 Medical NLP Challenge, where we submitted results in (fine-grained) emotion detection from suicide notes.

 

Rankings will be revealed during the workshop in October.

CLiPS was strongly represented at this year's CLIN, the Computational Linguistics in the Netherlands conference in Enschede, The Netherlands.

The AMiCA research project is currently one of the faces of the 'Determine the future' campaign at our university.

Research on cyberpaedophilia in 'De Ideale Wereld'

Our research on the detection of cyberpaedophilia that attracted quite some press attention recently, now also featured in the humoristic-informative tv-show De Ideale Wereld [The Ideal World].

The video below shows their amusing parody of a 'grooming' conversation between an older man and a young girl where the focus lies on their language use.
